TUI Top Quality 2019

The Spa & Sport Hotel Mar y Sol received the „TUI Top Quality 2019“ award.
The clients of the German tour operator TUI have rated this hotel as one of the best holiday hotel of the world.

 


 

Plaque de Honour

On 28th June 2019, the president of the German Help the Children Foundation (DKHS e.V), Mr Michael Seuchter, on behalf of the Social Association of Germany (SoVD, e.V.), presented Mr H. J. Fischer with the association’s plaque of honour. This plaque also indicates that the Mar y Sol Hotel is considered a good example of meditated planning that takes into account disabled and elderly persons.

9TH SENDA AWARDS

Grupo SENDA presents its annual awards.

The Mar y Sol Spa & Sport Hotel was presented with the SENDA Tourism and Leisure award for its holiday complex for people with and without disabilities in a barrier-free environment.

The SENDA Awards seek to recognise the work of individuals, institutions, companies and professionals who strive to improve the quality of life of the elderly and/or the dependent and encourage active and healthy ageing. In the afternoon of 5th June 2018 at the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality in Madrid, Grupo SENDA hosted the ninth SENDA Awards ceremony. It was chaired by the chairlady of Grupo SENDA, Matilde Pelegrí, and the director general of Imserso (Institute for the Elderly and Social Services), Carmen Balfagón. The chairlady of Grupo SENDA indicated that “the SENDA Awards are the meeting point for older people and the public health sector”. She also underlined the fact that Grupo SENDA has “18 years of experience and is the leading multimedia information platform in our sectors, with paper, digital and radio media”.

Roosevelt Association Award for barrier-free tourism and inclusive leisure time facilities

Hans-Joachim Fischer (founder and CEO of the Mar y Sol Hotel) received on 4th December 2017 the “Roosevelt Association Award for barrier-free tourism and inclusive leisure time facilities”. The award was presented to him by Benjamin Prieto Valencia (President of the provincial government of Cuenca).

Hans-Joachim Fischer received this distinction for his exemplary commitment to build the throughout accessible holiday resort Mar y Sol.


 

The ARONA ACCESSIBLE AWARDS - AAA

Awards designed to reward the best actions in innovation, culture and commitment regarding functional diversity.

The ceremony to present the 2nd Arona Accessibility Awards - AAA was held on 2nd December 2017 in Los Cristianos, on the eve of the World Day for Functional Diversity. The main individuals and organisations committed to this cause over the past year were present at this year’s AAA, and were recognised in ten different categories.

The Mar y Sol Hotel received the Accessible Canary Islands AAA for its commitment towards accessible tourism. This recognition, presented by David Miguel Pérez, the councillor for Tourism at Arona Council, was received by Hans-Joachim Fischer (founder and CEO of the Mar y Sol Hotel) together with his son, Thomas Fischer (deputy CEO).


 

IV Mahou - A PROVINCIA - La Opinión Awards for Gastronomy

The Mar y Sol Spa & Sport Hotel has been presented with the Mahou - LA PROVINCIA - La Opinión Award for Gastronomy and won in the category "hotel with entrepreneurial social responsibility".

Thomas Fischer, assistant manager of the hotel and son of the founder and owner of Mar y Sol, collected the prestigious award at the gala ceremony held on 29th June 2017 in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria). The Mahou - LA PROVINCIA - La Opinión Award for Gastronomy was presented to him personally by the director of the daily newspaper La Opinión, Joaquín Catalán.


 

2015 Sinpromi Accessible Architecture Awards

At an awards ceremony held on 9th December 2015, Mr. Hans-Joachim Fischer, founder and managing director of the Mar y Sol Spa & Sport Hotel was presented with the 2015 Sinpromi Accessible Architecture Award by the president of the Island Council of Tenerife, Mr. Carlos Alonso.

This initiative is structured around The Island Society for the Promotion of the Disabled (Sinpromi, its Spanish acronym). These awards seek to promote the planning and construction of accessible environments and buildings, acknowledging public and private work that has included accessibility in an exemplary manner to encourage a change in the design of the space.

In the Innovation in Accessible Architecture category (included for the first time this year), the award was given to the "Accessible hotel. Holidays without barriers. Mar y Sol Hotel" project. Its innovation lies in offering a complete, accessible tourist package that includes not only physical access to the hotel but also personalised assistance to meet the needs of each guest.


 

Telefónica Ability Awards

The Mar y Sol Spa & Sport Hotel has been presented with the Telefónica Ability Award for Accessibility. Hans-Joachim Fischer, founder and owner of the hotel, collected the prestigious award at the gala ceremony held on 12th January 2015 in Madrid. The Telefónica Ability Award was presented to him personally by Her Majesty the Queen of Spain, Letizia Ortiz.


 

Homage by the German Focal and Regulatory Research Association

Mrs. Elli Baum-Fischer, director of the TERALAVA medical and therapy centre at the Mar y Sol Spa & Sport Hotel, received special homage.

On 24th January 2014, the German Focal and Regulatory Research Association (D.A.H.), represented by its chairman Dr. med. Harry Lamers, presented Elli Baum-Fischer with a bronze angel made by the Dutch artist Isabella Nizet, in recognition of her extraordinary achievements using Regulatory Medicine. Dr. med. Harry Lamers handed over the statue with the words "one angel for another angel".


 

Distinction from the municipality of Arona

On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of Arona's Accessibility Plan, the Mar y Sol Spa & Sport Hotel was awarded for making a name for itself as the first and, for a long time, only holiday complex in Europe with fully wheelchair-accessible facilities. The event was attended by (from left to right in the photo) Paulino Rivero (President of the Canary Island Government), Francisco Niño (Mayor of Arona), Antonio García Marichal (Councillor for the Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation at the Island Council of Tenerife) and Evelin Santos (Councillor for Tourism in Arona).

The bronze statue was awarded to Hans-Joachim Fischer (founder and owner of the Mar y Sol Spa & Sport Hotel) by Antonio García Marichal.


 

Certificate from the Netherlands Red Cross

The managing committee, the guests and carer of the Netherlands Red Cross, district Maastricht, Meerssen and Mergelland present to Mr. H.-J. Fischer (Owner of the Spa & Sport Hotel Mar y Sol) the certificate for the best hotel 2012.

 


 

Award for Universal Accessibility

Mar y Sol receives the award for Universal Accessibility from AENOR.

On January 9, 2012 Hotel Mar y Sol in Los Cristianos has been the first hotel in the Canary Islands to receive this certificate from the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (Aenor).

The award "Certificate for Universal Accessibility" was handed over on January 18th 2012 on the occasion of an official celebration in Madrid, held under the auspices of the Spanish Tourism Trade Fair, Fitur. The first Vice-President of the government of Tenerife, Carlos Alonso, along with the General Director of the Aenor Association, Avelino Brito and Manuel Romero, Commercial Director for Certification (Aenor) presented the certificate to Hans-Joachim Fischer , proprietor of the Mar y Sol Hotel.
